I bought my Konica Minolta Dynax 5D in the UK no the US. So, my camera is marked as the Dynax and not a Maxxum.
Can I not have my camera model to choose from? :) |

Same thing. The Canon Rebel has 3 different names. |

They are exactly the same camera, except for the writing on the outside. A significant proportion of the DPCers you see with a Maxxum 5D or 7D camera under their name are actually using a Dynax, me included.
What can you do? Either start a Rant about American cultural imperialism, or make sure you enter lots of image comments and forum posts talking about colours, polarising filters, the use of aluminium foil as an improvised reflector, and so on.

Probably copyright problem, as different names for countries. |
