I took out my new 18-200VR for a spin at a local festival yesterday.
Here's a few outtakes, mostly candids.
I'm not sure I like the lens. It creeps from 18 to the full 200mm when being carried around, images seem to lack contrast and the VR really isn't that spectacular.
Ah well, we'll see how we get along during my vacation...

Tom - I agree on the creep. It is a pain. But I do get pretty good photos from it and seeing as I only bought it for a vacation lens I think it will work well. I'll carry it in a sling case most of the time to avoid the creep. It is a little obscene when it is full out. Try

review for its limitations.

For festivals I find you can not beat the 70-200 2.8 VR, it takes great shots with beautiful color, contrast and bokeh.
