Fleetweek is Oct 5-9th and Red Bull Air Race World series takes place on Oct 7th. Seems like both events are scheduled for the same week. Possible GTG.

Good grief! Didn't we just DO that one? Of course we were all there but I never met anybody else from DPC, even though some of us were within 50 feet of each other.

ONe thing, if we do the Red Bull this year, and if anybody drives, get there about 8 or 9am, or prepare to hike.

With or without the comma, that's a good idea, Rikki!

I heard the world's biggest air show is taking place in Oshkosh, Wisconsin -- more than 10,000 aircraft in one place!

Did I ever tell you my grandfather was one of the first designers of aircraft engines?
If you look hard, there is some information on the Internet about the engines:

One reference is here:

DeLong Engine Company

More engines are pictured here: look under Elbridge Engines
I still have copies of some of his material. (The originals have long been in the Smithsonian) And occasionally people write and I answer questions about his contributions to aircraft history.

Amazing how much has happened in such a short period of time.

First powered flight to landing on another planet in 63 years -- not bad.

This sounds cool... I'll know more on if Dave and I could go when it gets closer to the date (school and jobs ya know?) Sounds like something Dave would especially like

Hope we can go, I'm gonna watch this thread

California International Airshow in Salinas occurs the weekend before the Fleetweek celebrations. Sept 30 and Oct. 1.

Thinking about attending to get ready for Blue Angels and the Red Bull Air racing.
