If you were hit by a truck, your laying out in a gutter dying and had time to take one photograph. One photograph that would tell God and the world how you felt about your time here on earth. One photograph that would sum you up, what would it be?

Question taken for the "Walk the line Movie" but substituted song for photography. Thought it may be interesting what people would say

How can I take a picture when the truck smashed my camera?
Why would I take a picture for an imaginary being even if my camera wasn't smashed by the truck? Especially one that allegedly sees all?
If I was laying in the gutter experiencing the last moments of my life, taking a picture is the last thing I would be thinking of.
If I HAD to and COULD take a picture, I agree with Brett since at that point nothing else matters.

Since we are using images to define our life....

....let's assume I have the latest Hasselblad 500cvw camera as well with a 35mm 2f Zeiss lens, and 22mp digital back.

Even with this set up, the final image would still be blurred, hence, my life is just one big blur.

The only thing that is ever in focus, and tack sharp is my family.

And I bequeath my camera to them, to learn from me, not to allow them selves to have a life that is blurry.

bump. On a more serious note.

A valid question. Rephrased:

If you had only one picture to take before your life was over. And you wanted that picture to define you as a person here on earth. What kind of picture would you take?

I've already produced the photo that sums up my life: cheesy :-)

I'd photograph the fatal injury and call it Snowdon's Secret.

I'd take a photo with the lenscap on.

A natural smile that says "Thanks", be it my own or someone else, perhaps even a child smiling.

* It's been a good life no matter how many things I thought sucked, no matter how many unhappy moments
I've had, no matter how many bumps there were in the road.
* It's been a good life, because I have seen so many less fortunate than I, and I have never had to suffer.
* It's been a good life, because I have seen my 2 kids grow into happy, responsible young adults.

It's been a good life, therefore a smile would be in order.

I wouldn't take one. If I have not already taken it then it is to late.

I respect Bradp's opinion... He and I have traveled similar roads. He knows what it is like to face your own mortality. He knows far better than most what picture you might take.

I think I would find the littlest flower, or the smallest piece of beauty nearby, and take a picture of that.
