After a week of frustration, my internet connection is finally running properly again.

For a full 7 days my computer was unable to display any full size photos and half the thumbnails at dpc. Worse still, it would not connect to some sites at all. I have had similar problems twice in the past, but never for more than two days at a time, so I assumed it would correct itself much sooner. But as time passed I got more and more frustrated and started desperate things like deleting costaware and accelerator programs, also temporary files, cookies and even internet history. But nothing helped. On previous occasions I have tried contacting my service provider but they have been no help. This time I resisted the temptation.

At about 3pm yesterday (SA time) I went outside and saw a technician working on the telephone line (I'm on dialup) and somehow I had a feeling everything was going to be okay. Sure enough, everything is now running smoothly.

Just wondering if someone more knowledgeable than I can confirm that this is not just a coincidence. Seems I now know who to contact next time I have a problem.
