Are there any decent clamps out there with the threaded bolt for directly mounting the camera, or do you have to buy accessories to mount a camera with a clamp?

Thanks.

I would think a trip to the hardware store would take care of you. Most sell plastic clamps that are strong enough to hold a camera. Drill a hole thru one of the handles and put a screw in it. More elaborate designs could be made with flexable hose clamps (like on a reading light with a clamp) to provide easy positioning -- but stability would likely suffer.

Bogen/Manfrotto Super Clamps are great. They cost about $28 at B&H. With a head mounting plate you can attach the head from your tripod, or whatever. They make lots of other grip and mounting equipment too.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate them. Nobody makes a clamp with the threaded bolt built in for camera mounting?

The Hakuba HCS23 Camera Clip is $37.95 at B&H, but only holds 2 pounds.

A Bogen/Manfrotto Super Clamp with either the Double Ball Joint Head with Camera Platform or the Double Ball Joint Head with Quick Release Adapter and Plate would be sturdier and much more versatile. With a plain clamp you would have to move whatever you're clamping to in order to aim the camera. You can get used super clamps at B&H for $15.

Nice toy!

Don't forget that the bolt is a fairly common size and thread. Usually 1/4" -20 thread
