Great image. It was one of my top three picks for that challenge.

Well he didn't get the "P" in PNC in the shot. He should have panned a bit to the left before shooting. :P

ETA: Congrats Alan. The only thing that would have made this better is if it was Yankee Stadium. :P

Actually, I sent them two versions... one with the P, and one without the P. Turns out, they used the version I submitted here, but eliminated the majority of the Jumbotron anyway.

Which reminds me of a couple interesting notes about this whole thing...

First, I thought it was cool that they had me do a good bit of the editing myself. I figured they wouldn't want me to touch the original, and they'd do all of it themselves... but I actually did the first series of edits, including cloning out some wires, etc.

They went through and removed all traces of advertising that originally appeared in the shot, and replaced them with Chevy logos. Interestingly, one of the signs was originally a Dodge ad, which you can clearly see in the original!

That's so cool. I've never been to that park but that place does have one incredible backdrop not to mentioned lighting at the time you shot this. Maybe in 50 years or so the Bucs will be back making some noise. :P

Congrats Alan!

Since it's our fault here at DPC, you need to punish us all by buying us one year membership renewals ;P

@bosborne - Yeah - Do you watch the TV show Survivor? Amber Brkich Mariano? Alan does her (their?) website - //www.amber-brkich.com/ and he had a shot of her in People. He himself was in People (or US or one of them) - when Amber and Rob got married alan was a guest and was in the background of the shot that made the magazine.

Ok, I honestly feel bad about my constant bragging about this shot, and I promise I'll eventually stop... BUT... I just got some more news I had to share. I can't stop my fingers from typing it!

I got a new call from ANOTHER ad agency this morning who wants to use the shot for ANOTHER ad in USA Today!

I am legally allowed to sell the shot to anyone I want, despite the fact it's being used in the Chevy ad, but I told them I wouldn't sell it to be used in USA Today / Sports Illustrated for another purpose. They said they'd appreciate it if I wouldn't do that, and I can certainly understand them not wanting me to do so.

So I offered this group -- "Pittsburgh Roars" -- a different shot that I took last fall at the park, and they're going to use it in a regional ad! In other words, it will appear in USA Today's Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Buffalo, Cleveland, and other nearby city issues.

It'll be in a 1/4 page ad either tomorrow or Monday... so keep an eye out for it if you're in those areas!

AND... I got a phone call at 5:00 this morning from a local TV station (WTAE, Channel 4). Their weather guy called me to ask if they could use the shot during their weather segment. When it aired at 6:30, the forecaster mentioned my name, and joked about how I answered his call at 5:00!

I just found an online version of the TV commercial:

Chevy Commercial

You can see my shot... briefly... in two spots. Once at about the :32 second mark, and again at :40!
