| Is there an ultra-compact form factor digital camera that does 300mm or more on the telephoto end, and has some form of manual controls (aperture, shutter priority)? |

I think the Panasonic FZ cameras are near to 300mm... not sure exactly as they measure it as "12x" or whatever, but it's gotta be close. Built-in IS too, and lots of settings.

Thanks! The FZ series go up to 420mm, but they are not ultra-compacts. Specifically I'm trying to find something that fits in my pocket, something the size of the Canon IXUS, those kind? |

Ahh... Ultra-Compact. I'm so used to my 300D now that anything the FZ size would be ultra compact to me, my flatmate has one and I'm always amazed by its size, lol.

I think this is as close as you are going to get with that kind of reach.

Thanks :) I was reading the reviews last nite too - too bad there are no control over the aperture/shutter at all on this little guy. I kinda liked it. |

Yeah, it is too bad that it doesn't have that. I would think that it would, but whatever. As far as I know, that's really all there is with that kind of reach.
