I have just re-edited my entry for Time Capsule from last year. I am planning on putting one in my soon to open lawn gallery. Which one do you like better? Should I try using either image, or just leave it out all together? It is an historic factory in the next town over, very local, so there could be some interest.

I think the top one is a much better crop. It's got kind of a greenish tint though that irks me slightly. |

I like the first one better, but on my monitor it looks too yellow. Actually, I think if you tone down the yellow the sky will return to blue. I'd like to see how it looks as a sepia image.
edit to add: The original is more monotone, but also seems too yellow to me.

Yes, I like the re-edit much better. The tonality of the brickwork is much better--I get a good sense of the way it feels to be surrounded by the factory walls. The expanded cropping also helps to show what it was like to be in the narrow spaces between the industrial buildings.
I have two suggestions to make for improvements. First, I agree with the others that the greenish yellow tonality could be improved. Yes, the tonality does suggest that it is an old print, but my reading of the image is that it is a recent (current) image of an old factory. I think it would be better to have more realistic colors.
My second suggestion is that it would be better to do a perspective tranformation to make the vertical lines parallel. These are proud old buildings and they ought to stand up straight!
I think this is excellent work. The old factories of New England are an important part of the cultural history of the region and you have capture their feeling very well.
