Can someone suggest a decent macro lens for Nikon. I take photos of jewlrey and I need a macro lens soon. But I don't have a lot to spend.

I have been using an inexpensive Quantaray 70-300 1:4-5.6 Tele-Marco with my D70s and for an inexpensive lense it works pretty darn good. Not sure if this is an option for you (if you need a macro light ring etc) but it works good for me and at $180 you can't beat it. All my marco shots were taken with this lense, you can see them out here

You might be able to get by putting extension tubes behind your 70-300 zoom. At the wide end, you could certainly get up to 1:1 magnification that way.

Depending on what "a lot" means: I like the sigma 105 2.8. It's a tasty little lens. I think it's around $350ish.
