Here is my attempt at comparing straight flash with the Omni-Bounce and the Lightsphere II.

Comparison Shots

(If that doesn't work well for you, try this link)

I am VERY please with the results of the Lightsphere bounced off the ceiling. (As the directions recommend unless you are outdoors.) Pay attention to the glare on the walls. Big differences there.

These are all untouched jpegs.

Thanks for taking the time out to do this comparison, Jenn. Really does make me feel good about investing in a LightSphere as this is further evidence that the beast does what it says!

Interesting result when you used the LS in bounce-flash mode but with the dome off. I assume that the kitchen ceiling is not that high?

I can't rave enough about the LS, I heart my LS :)

I'm surprised with the final two images (ceiling bounce: dome on v. dome off) -- I would have thought dome on would have had less glare on the bg than dome off. Interesting. Tres interesting.

Thanks for the comparison shots Jenn. \

You are correct, the ceiling is fairly low. It is a standard 8ft ceiling. I am assuming the results for the Lighsphere w/ Dome Off would not be quite as flattering with a higher ceiling.
