Did anybody in So Cal see the rocket tonight? Vandenberg Air Force Base launched a Delta IV rocket tonight just after sunset. It headed south-east and went into the earth's shadow, so no real pretty contrails like the ones that go over the Pacific. It should have been visible to Arizona and southern Nevada too, weather permitting. Here's a shot from about 160 miles east of the launch in the mountains above Los Angeles.

Didn't catch that one, but on a similar note the Space Shuttle is set to launch on July 1st at ~3:30pm from Florida.
