Today's exciting adventue was Mt. Rushmore. We opted to see it this evening and go back in the morning for daytime shots with a better sunlight angle. We saw this little baby mt. goat and mama on the way into the park.

By the way...all editing (if any) on my trip photos so far have been done on my laptop which gives a bit different contrast and colors than my home monitor. I'm only doing a few so far just so I can post them. I'm sure I'll redo more in depth on them when I get home.
Unfortunately, I do have quite a bit of sensor dust but I haven't been able to find a place to service the camera while I wait for that. I think that might be making a difference in my "30 sec." score as well. It's around the 6.2 mark, but I seem to notice the dust very clearly so I'm sure others are as well.
Thanks for all the comments so far. It's fun to log on when I can and see who might be keeping up with the trip! :) |

I have never posted a bad comment but I do not like the shot of the mountain. It is not the way you took the picture but the way it is lit...I wish you could have used a long exposure, waited for less light in the sky and HAD THEM KILL THOSE DAM LIGHTS!!! Those lights are what killed the image for me and that was completely beyond your control. I wish I could say something better but I can not get over that light.
Can someone else please chime in here and tell me I am wrong...I feel really bad about this comment because there was nothing the photographer could do from what I see! Help? |

I actually waited all evening for the lights :) We went back the next morning to get daytime shots. The mountain is in shadow more in the evening. I haven't posted the daytime shots yet, though. Nothing wrong with your comment at all. Just a matter of opinion. I thought it would be nice to have the nighttime shot of the monument and I'm happy enough with the shot. If you want to see some daytime shots, keep checking my portfolio in the next few days. |
