Hope i can explain myself properly. I am making a slide show with photostory 3. It does not have the ability to have a slide with just text, you can only put text on a photo. It has been suggested that you can make computer generated slides with text. What does that mean? Can I make up something in word and then somehow transfer it?

Thanks in advance

I'm not quite sure what that means but couldn't you just make an image file with text in photoshop?

Hi Joy,

Use Digital Image Pro
File > New > choose 5x7
Add a background
...shape/square and drag to fit canvas
...Right Click choose Change Shape or Line > Fill (choose your color)
Add and Place your Text or Shaped Text
Save as jpg

Add that where you need it in the show

I usually choose a background for my show...such as plain colour or a mottled background or a photo background...that way any image that reveals part of the background will work in unison with the other slides.

So once I have decided what background I will then create a new image in PS the same size as the slideshow images and name it Background and save it in the folder with the other slideshow images.

When I need a slide with text I just add my background slider and put it in order and put the text on top.

How do you add a background?

I edited that post after I thought about it

Under Add Something in the column on the left

Click Shape choose the Square and drag using the corner and side handles to fit canvas
It becomes the bottom layer
Right Click on the square (background) choose Change Shape or Line > Fill (choose your color, texture or image)

Add and Place your Text or Shaped Text

Each time you add text it becomes it's own layer so you can move them around to your liking.

As Judi pointed out once you get a background you like, save it as a jpg with no text and call it BlankSlide or something like that. Then all you have to do is open that each time you do a slide and do a save as... once you got your text layed out.
