If you have a sec you can comment on my 10 minute try at Corel painter.
I have a 60 day trial on the program.
Here are the original and the painted one. As you can see, I tried to keep some features "clean". I'm told that walking this fine line is the difficult part. I feel that I may have made some facial features too "clean" for this overall painting...what do you think?
Thanks,

My opinion is the effect is too strong on most parts of the image. The face looks fine but the effect above the head makes it look like she's under water and the the effect on the reptile takes away too much detail.
(IMO anyway) |

So "less" effect all the way around?

That would be what I would do. I feel that most of the image has been lost to the effect rather than creating a new rendition of the image. |

I like her face, but not sure of the sideways strokes on the lower left (her body, hand and reptile) ....how did you do it? Be really interested to hear. |

The strokes on the bottom is what my first draft looked like...I then went in and removed some "paint" from her face so you could identify her (to her family). That is why it looks "brushy" on some parts....I am still learning!
I did this in Corel Painter IX. It is more of a "paint" type program that is well above what Photoshop offers in "painting".
I did come back to PS to put in the "canvas" texture though!
Thanks,
Ken
