Well, Southern Gentleman has been doing an excellent job with the WPL, but because of all that time required, the ribbon chase has fallen by the wayside.
I'm thinking of starting a behind-the-scenes newsletter for those who care about trivial things like who won the most ribbons this year.
Here's the catch, I'm already fairly busy with work and so I'm not looking for a mammoth undertaking. With that in mind...
If you would like to participate in the newsletter, send me a PM with an email you want it sent to (I'll probably try to update once a week). However, to be part of the chase right now, you must have already won three ribbons this year. This will cut way down on the number of people I need to keep track of. If you would like to just receive the email, but not be part of the chase (you either don't care or you haven't won 3 ribbons), send me a PM with your email and I'll be happy to add you to the mailing list.
Once again, the purpose of the restriction is to reduce the amount of work I have to do. I bet there are maybe only a dozen people who have won 3 ribbons this year.

Wow, that's interesting, there are many more men that are multiple ribbon winners than women. I wonder if that holds true overall.

I have heard, and take this with a grain of salt, that men tend to rise to the top of their field because they are single-task, focused in thinking (according to brain wiring). They will hone their skill in that one thing at the cost of other things.
Women, on the other hand, are multi-tasking and broad in their thinking. They tend to be very good at several things instead of one.
No idea if that is actually true, but it seems to reflect some of what I see in life. |

Hmmmm. I've heard stuff like that also, and I think there is some truth to it, although it's always dangerous to apply generalizations to individual situations. Anyway.
Is that why there is that slang word for women, "broads"? |

Sigh... One ribbon and two fourth places (both 7+ scores) this year. Can I be an honorary member?
