Ive seen a few lenses that have somthing between the lenses that grows or distorts the glass in a star pattern and i dont understand whats happening. I cant seem to clean it off and it distorts the images and can sometimes cause focus issues.

I never see it on the outside its always between the lenses and only seems to grow on the flat spots of the lens.

Is there a trick to cleaning this?

always keep your lenses dry and mildew free by using silica gels. i bought a whole bunch and always have some in my camera bag ;)
