Hi.
I was wondering if I get sharper pictures at 1/250 shutter than at ex. 1/2000. I´m thinking about the flipping of the mirror causing shake, and if the shutter is only open for 1/2000 (or more) then there is a bigger chance of the minor-minor shake of the mirror will ruin the picture. Instead at 1/250 or less, the mirror will shake a bit, but then turn steady as the exposure is not finish yet, so the ccd gets more time recording the steady timeframe (after the mirror-shakiness has ceased). Everyting on a tripod of course.

Mirror lockup would of course eliminate this problem, but if mirror lockup is not enabled is this a problem? Or is it a too small shake, to even notice?

I seem to remember that mirror shake was more of a problem in the 1/15 - 1/4 sec area

though i can't remember where i would have read that... (dpreview possibly ?)

it may also depend on several other factors (I.E. lens attached, piviot point(tripod attached to lens or camera) mfg of the camera or even model....)

First!!!!let us know what kind photography you're doing
I'm using mirror lockup with macro photography allot
With my Canon 180mm,I don't really use it for any other type of photography
If i was you...... I will try to find the sweet-spot on my lens first
Seems F/8-F/11 to the most lens works fine. I will not worry as much for shutter speed and for mirror lockup for now.
After you have learn this ,then you try to see if mirror lockup works for you
Thanks Emmanuel

That's right.

I don´t have problems with my mirror shaking or anything. I just asked a theoretical question. Just wondering how important this lockup function actually is, or if it´s overkill.
