I am looking for somebody who has used the Canon EOS Rebel 2000 35 mm film camera. I have lost my manual and I have a couple questions. They indicate that there is a way of using a remote for macro and bulb mode, but I don't see a screw in release button where the shutter is. Can you use a release cable for this? I want to take some longer exposures (5-6 minutes) in July during the meteor shower.

I am also wondering if you can use infrared with this camera. Is infrared a setting on the camera, or is it just a type of film? I would appreciate any help with this.

Google is your friend...

The Manual

Also, Magic Lantern guides are great. I have one for my Elan II.

In reference to infrared I don't think you can use infrared film (I know the Elan II can't). You can use an infrared remote (wireless) with the camera.

Remote Release at B&H

Infrared is a type of film. I have used infrared black and white film and developed the film myself. You need to load and unload the film in the dark (darkroom or a changing bag).

I'm not sure whether the Rebel will work with infrared film. This would be something to check at a camera store.
