Today I bought a Nikon SB-800 Flash, yeah!!! Im happy.
Who's got that flash and are there some fun things you can do with it? (yep I know about the creative lightning, but I meant more like ehm on the job shooting a party or some event)
I had a SB28 DX (anyone who wants to buy it?? I'll bring it to muenster if you like...) But ever since I have a D200 I had to flash manual. Not practic shooting a party or any other jobs that need quick working....(is this good English.....? Sorry if not..)

I have the 600 and love love luuuuuuuuuve it. I highly recommend the gary fong ls as an add-on.
I would say master the commander/wireless and you're off and running on some way cool options.
congrats on a superb purchase. :) |

I got the SB600 and I've been checking the Lightsphere II for hours and I can't decide on which one to buy: The LSII Clear or the LSII Cloud.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!! |

I have 2 SB600s and an SB800
I just fried the SB800 by not letting it cool down enough during a very heavy shoot. BE CAREFUL - there is no heat sensor in there to shut it down if it gets too hot. Thermal failure is thermal destruction!
Other than that I LOVE(d) it! wonderful flash :)
Get a lightsphere or use the diffuser at the party. READ THE MANUAL.
It should do a great job in i-TTL mode most of the time though :)

if you shoot mainly portraits get the cloud, otherwise get the clear. |

I have an SB800 and an SB600, next month I'll order another SB600, I do photography for a local band, they were rehearsing on stage in the middle of the afternoon in a hall, there no curtains on the windows and we could not get the stage lights to work.
Most of the images in this set: //www.flickr.com/photos/colda/sets/72057594078689851/ were taken with just the 600 and 800 (with red and blue filters) fired remotely plus a yellow filter covering the built-in flash.
I love the Nikon creative lighting system :)

Wow, Colda that looks quit nice! Love the blue lights! It looks like a real stage peformance.
I was pretty surprised Nikon "gives" filters, and a dome as included accessories. Normaly Nikon doesn't include much and the accessories are rather expensive.
Hmmm I feel some extra SB-600's comming up..... that's gonna cost me *lol* Is it really so easy as put a flash on the place and it works? Wowwy.
I never liked flash pictures until I started to use mine manual. I had to because the SB-28DX didn't works TTL on a D200. I learned a lot.
But when I'm on a job TTL is much quicker so I don't miss any moment, or ruin the moment by having my flash on the wrong settings.
