Well, I will start it off.
I predict my submission to be in the mid upper 5's. 5.6 to maybe a even a 5.9.
I shoot for myself, and not for twenty interpretations of the definition.

I predict sine my shutter was open for 30 seconds that I'll have less competition and score in the mid to upper 5's:-)

I have never competed, so I am clueless as to where I will rank. I am torn between which to use of the two photos I took for the challenge. So we'll see where I land. Hehe!

I think this is one of my best and certainly one of my favorites. That should guarantee me a good solid 4 because my favs always score low :)

I am in.....
I absolutely had a ball with this one, as I received my new "Canon" Macro Lens, for my birthday.....
I have really enjoyed taking lots and lots of photos.....
Can't wait to see the results, as this is my first "Bokeh" challenge.....

I guess the case is same with everyone :) I'm posting the one which I think is not-that-great, but has scoring potential. I expect 6+ on my submission.

| I'm guessing that I will switch the photo I have submitted another 23 times between now and tomorrow night, and that the one I end up submitting will get a 5.4, and the one I don't submit would have gotten at least a 6.5... |

I started shooting tonite, learned a few things about my equipment, will re-shoot tomorrow nite.
edit to add: I don't know how it will do. Based on past experience it could end up in the high fours.

| Although I have a lens which has a knack of producing the most excellent bokeh, I decided to go for 30 seconds, seeing my camera is capable of it, and the EXIF states 30 secs, not 29.6473 or whatever. ;>) But I'm looking forward to what you guys come up with. |

| hmm.. well, I really wanted to do some bokeh shots (still can't pronounce it), and I didn't really have any good ideas for 30 sec, or at least they didn't pan out (if only I could afford a drive to san francisco), and I'm down to 2 shots, one is good bokeh but bad picture, other is questionable as to if it is even bokeh at all or just shallow DOF, but it is a much nicer photo. I'm gonna go with the pretty one and hope enough people think it's bokeh, lol |

wait i just read something i didn't realize:
you can only enter one of the open challenges, not both? if you enter the open can you enter the member as well (if you're a member I mean).
I'm new to all this--still haven't even entered a challenge cause i'm lame and i've been sick.

I think I will get 6.1-6.7 or about 5. I don't really know. I think my shot hasn't enough bokeh to place high but I'm really proud of it so I think it's good. I'll just hope the best.
anmidoc: Sickness is a good part for photography. I was sick yesterday and the only thing I did was to take macro shots in my garden. When you're sick you have enough time to make huge experiments that will maybe place high in a challenge. |

As someone who appears to be "heavy" on the definition of bokeh I will predict that my shot - which does encompass all of the things I have spoken about - will bomb.
Why?
Because I am too literal in my interpretation of a challenge and end up taking shots which conform rather than shots that appeal.
Now there is an interesting life lesson! Time to shoot more and talk less, methinks :-)
Predicted score: mid 4s....
