My brother and his band, cut their first demo CD for a local "Battle of the Bands". I uploaded 2 songs that I think they do really good on. Well, except the singing! haha! My brother's friend really can't sing... but if you listen, you can hear my brother on backup vocals.

No title - My brother wrote all the music for this song, and he plays lead guitar. So most of what you hear, is him! :D

Nirvana "Heart Shaped Box" - Again... my brother plays lead guitar and you can hear him on the backup vocals

I am so proud of him!!!!! He's not to bad for not even being 14 yet!
:D

Uhm, I don't want to download the files to my computer... can't you link some other way?

For some reason I am not able to open anything. Quick download only to play the last thing I had open in my media player.

What is a .cda file?? My browser can't do anything with it. Can you upload MP3s?

Tried it...but was informed I would have to record it prior to being able to play it. No offence, but I would rather not proceed in that matter.

.cda is like the information of the track. Basicly last time I saw someone do this. They Draged and Dropped the track off the disk to transfer... Enstead of Ripping the track off the disk which is the proper way and only way to get the complete information of the cd.

So, advice is to find a free ripper, rip the tracks off the demo disk. Than upload them for us to listen to.

Ok, I fixed it! :)

Thanks for the heads up guys. And thanks littlegett for the ripper info.

Here are the new links:

Oh, I know.. We keep telling my brother they have to find a new singer! hahaha!

I mean, it's not bad for 14 year old kids who write their own music. Well, I mean not the Nirvana, but still.

I know they aren't great... they have only been playing for a few months now... but I am very proud of my brother. He is very shy, and this is helping him come out of his shell! :D

It has a 'Kung Fu Fetus' feel to it. Very Raw and untouched. The singer would to much better not to try and preform a cover. But something orginal that fits his voice.

I have heard some really horrible singers before... used to go up and down the coast from Portland to Canada listening to local bands. But, if they can get something orginal that fits his voice.. they have it.. no matter how 'horrible' he preforms a cover.

The thing with covers is... if you don't redo it totaly to fit your style it probly won't be liked. Take The Newly Deads with 'Hello I Love You' Now, I normaly take great offence at someone trying to cover the Doors, because they normaly just jack it all up. But the Newly Deads did a great job, because they took it into their style.

The playing isn't bad at all for 14. I have heard people who 'supposedly' had 14 years experance and sound very very bad...

Anyway. thats just my buck fifteen.

Thanks Littleget.

I have thought about helping them write some lyrics for songs... I like to write poetry, so. Bu then again... they have have yet to experience things I would write about! :)

They did a cover of Blink 182's Dammit, and while the music was good... the singing was way off... I couldn't even listen to it! haha

I hope that they do make into the battle of the bands... it would be a great experience for them! :D

I ama HUGE nirvana fan so I had to listen but oh my god that singer. ROFL. He doesnt sound like he even cares to be there or doing that. im sure your Brother and the rest of the band can find better, the music was good though. wish i could play liek that. i can play most nirvana on a keyboard(well at least i could when i was 14) but lol keyboards arent as cool as guitars.
