I'm after a zoom lens for my 350D.
70-300mm is perfect.
Sigma, i've heard produce decent lenses with sharp results at my price, which is £150 really.
I would like the convenience of having 28-300mm but i'd have to lose the macro ability without paying alot more i think.
These are my two main choices, they seem really similar;
APO Macro Super II
APO DG Macro
What's the difference? Which is better obviously?
Any advice or comments? Thanks so much guys and gals.

//www.sigma-photo.co.jp/english/lens/telezoom/70_300_4_56_apo.htm
is the current one - so get it. looks like the second one in your links there.
better choice than a 28-300 - the 70-300 is very sharp.

Thanks very much for the reply Prof.
I'd heard good things about it, just checking with the Dpc crowd.
Or in this case person.
Cheers mate.

I got that lens a few weeks ago, and so far I'm pretty happy with it. The macro only works from 200-300mm, which is fine, and lets you be far away from you subject.
Because of this lens, I have found out that my hands shake quite a bit, especially when its windy :(. |
