Also known as Photo club monthy group shoots.
The Album Cover
Seriously, if you have a (informal) photo group in your area, you may just want to check it out. Just a bunch of peeps getting together once a month doing a friendly shoot of a designated area/attraction. We attacked Escondido last weekend.
Wheter to learn or teach it is fun to get out with 30-40 peeps with the Digital Photography interest. It's kind of like a living book of knowledge. Also it is pretty cool when someone hands you their lens and says try it with this one.
Our group San Diego dSLR Photography Group is not competitive, so we shoot for a morning, hang out for lunch and then compare pics on-line.
One of our members relocated (with the Navy) to the Hampton Roads area in Virginia and has started a sister club Hampton Roads dSLR Photography club, so if you live in that area you might want to check it out. He has just started it so group shoots might be smaller at first, but ours here grew quite quickly.
Ok, so what did you think of that Simplicity filter on the shot above. I just like having fun with pics from time to time. I felt it added a little impact to what was originally quite snapish.

I would love to join a photography club but there doesn't seem to be any in my area. I think it would be a lot of fun. |

Please forgive me, but to MY eyes it still looks like a snapshot, except one with serious compression (or other) problems.
But hey..... what do I know about art? |
