I have been inspired by this thread to try the technique illustrated by the Purple Prowler near the beginning of the thread.

No secrets or special touches needed. Just keep shooting 'til you get what you want. There are always minor things like lighting and angles that do and don't work, but you'll get the hang of it over time.
 
And my two Challenge entries:

Not that I'm any expert at it, but much like I've learned here about other genres that I'm okay with, love of the subject anbd persistence/perseverance seems to reward me with shots I'm most pleased to have in my portfolio.
ETA: The truck made me a One Ribbon Wonder! LOL!!!
