Ok I know how to do reflections and radiosity in Photoshop, but what to do about objects that do not reflect vertically? Like a car that is shot from the front so that the back of the car is away from the camera and not on the same plane as the front of the car. I can't just flip>vertical on that. I tried warp, skew, distort, perspective, everything, and can't get it right. It is easy to do objects with sides you just copy individually and skew in place, but a car is different. And it is also not in contact with the floor except the tires, so that makes it even more complicated. Now I know why in ads, cars are shot totally horizontal and from the side ;-)
I hate being 9 hours ahead of everyone here :-( |

Ok my friend got a Nissan 350Z and I have a photo of it I wanted to jazz up. It is something like this, on a plain brown floor.
Pic 1
I did so many attempts at it but to no avail. Please help.

There is a reflection of the car in the photo you posted, albeit not a very exciting one--a shinier floor would have helped. Nevertheless, this is exactly the reflection one would get from the camera position used.
I assume what you would like to see is more of the car's side in the reflection. If this is so, you would need to have shot from a much lower level in the original camera position. This is so whether you shoot from the side, front, rear quarter, etc.
To get a more reflective surface, you could hose down the driveway or garage floor. |

Riolobo, I think you did not read my post. I need reflections in Photoshop. The picture I posted was an example, not the one I am using, although the car's positon is the same. The photo I have does not have a reflection, and I need to 'make' a reflection in Photoshop. |

Hmmmm, I thought I remembered reading your post.
Admittedly, I did not address your "need" to make a reflection in Photoshop, something that you are finding difficult and which is not getting a lot of suggestions on this thread. So I offered two suggestions if you wish to go the re-shooting route, viz., wet the "plain brown floor" to get reflections and use a lower pov than that of the example photo. |

Thanx. I'll do that. But just in case a reshoot is not possible, I'm sure people do create reflections in PS. Anyone? |
