Personally I don't like "live view". Even on my first 3 cheapy cams, I looked through the viewfinder.

How about you?

Only in regards to dslr's, or can anyone throw in their two cents' worth?

Any viewfinder vs "live view" would be ok IMO !

I actually kinda miss Live view at times. Sometimes, it's just not practical to have your eye glued to the viewfinder, like when shooting over your head.

I want to see a live view camera with a blue tooth remote with live view on the remote. That would be THE BOMB!

kay, throwing my pennies in anyway :)
I usually use the viewfinder, but the live view is great when I don't feel like lying in the middle of the road, or my arms are long but eyeballs aren't on matchingly long stalks. The swivel viewer is also great for taking sneak shots around corners and for helping with selfportraits. So each has its place, imo.

Electronic Waist Level Viewfinder for dSLRs

I was thinking of getting one of these.

Moving from my Canon Pro1 onto the 20D, I KNEW that I'd miss the swivel screen, and I sure do.

As mentioned above, there are situations where it is either very impractical, or painful, or actually impossible to have your eye glued to the viewfinder.

I sincerely hope Canon will follow suit in time for my next upgrade.

Totally agree, although I use the viewfinder most of the time on my old P&S, having a live view can be really useful. But it's amazing how some people think of live view as some kind of low-class feature. I'll always remember when, soon after getting my 10D, I asked a Canon representative why Canon didn't make a DSLR with live view and he sneered at me and said "you are obviously not a serious photographer"...

I think it has its place, specially for certain angles-- like this shot--

The swivel screen made this a whole lot easier!

as a point shoot camera user at the moment, i have to say that the live view is quite handy, especially when trying to get different perspectives. Saves you having to lie down on the ground for shots (eg buzzrock's cat :P)

The swivel LCD is the only reason I have not sold MY S1!

Yup...with my pro1 go to an airshow point it into the sky follow the planes, pull the trigger and pray that you got something...actually I got pretty good with it.

Now I don't know much about this Live View but if they are reproducing the image on an LCD then it is being done electronically and has to introduce some sort of lag delay (is a better word).

Besides hold the 20D out arms link away with a tammy 200-500mm and try to snap the shot off (tourist style) on the LCD...it isn't going to happen.
