Tomorrow is my last day of high school ever and I am soooo sick! What a terribly time to come down with something. I missed today, which included the grad slideshow. : (
If I'm still all ugly and sicky for prom I am going to freak out! |

Your prom occurs after school is out? Sounds like a recipe for an empty hall. |

I never went to school on the last day. ...or the day before or the day before or the day before or the day before or the day before ....
Sorry you're sick. :( Hope you get well soon. If you go to the prom looking sickly and awful just remember, it's not like your prom pictures will follow you the rest of your life. ...oh wait, yes they will. ;-P
Really hope you get better. |

I don't think it would fly here. Most people who take summertime vacations plan on leaving right after school is out, summer jobs have started, people move for college, not to mention that it's a school function, something that many would like to forget as soon as they get their diploma. What's the rationale for having it after the school year has ended? |

First, I am sorry you are sick! Get well, ... you will need your strength!
Second, I am sure you have no idea the freedom you have had in school.
Third, I am sorry to tell you, but from now on ... you will have to: a) Work your ass off trying to make your way in the world; or b) Look at life as an adventure presented to you where you can "opt in" or not.
One of these options is a success strategy. The other is a strategy for failure, poverty, defeat.
Do you want to live a productive life ... or do you want to live "as the other half lives?"
The future is up to you. Choose wisely "grasshoper."
Knock your self out!!!

We've lived both in the USA and in Canada, and prom is different in Canada than in the USA. Here (in Canada) it is part of graduating from HS. Grad ceremonies are on Friday, then on Saturday it's prom. All graduating students get to go to prom (if they want to) whether they have a date or not. There is a slide show at the beginning and all the seniors get introduced, then they get the first dance with their father or mother. It's kinda fun like that. But I don't know if it's like that everywhere in Canada. |
