Is the votes per view ratio very low for this challenge?
I've had over 500 views but fewer than 200 votes. Normally I'd get a vote for every 1.5 views.
Anybody else finding the same?

My ratio is also over 2 (383:177), but I find it normal for a challenge that has only 114 entries. People can view images more often than with, say, 400 image challenge. Let's ask the Green people what's their ratio and # of views. |

If you have something in your photo that is particularly good to look at (normally this means nudity of some sort, or just a downright awesome photo), it gets more views.
Take it as a good thing that your photo has something about it that people want to see (even if they aren't voting on it).

I'm not in an Empty Room, but I'm Green with envy (bad pun). My Green ratio is 1.2 (158:130). |

Usually when you have a much higher view to vote ratio you end up with a higher score than if you didn't or at least thats what I have observed looking at some of the challenges.
Unfortunately in the "empty rooms" challenge my ratio is only 1.74

This is a win-win for me. If I end up on top, great! If I go down, at least it was Judi that beat me!
How can I lose?

Hehehehe...I suppose I could take that as a compliment...although I am surprised to find someone who is quite okay to be beaten by a mere girl!

Interesting observation S.G. I've never thought of it this way, always assuming that if people thought an image was any good they would vote on it, but I see where you are coming from.
My vote/view ratio should indicate a ribbon on the way, but the score says otherwise :-) |

I can't say if this particular challenge has an abnormal ratio, I haven't really studied it, but in general it's definitely true, re earlier remarks this thread, that the more your views exceed your votes, the better you are doing. Images with a high views-to-votes ratio are usually images that people keep coming back to, which means you have engaged them.
But also, in general, member's challenges tend to have higher views-to-votes ratios simply because registered users can view them, but they cannot vote on them.
R.
I have 203 votes on 378 views in "Empty Room" btw...

Aha! I hadn't realised that repeat viewing by the same person added to the 'views' total. I had assumed that it was more like 'unique page impressions' where the number of viewings was an indication of the number of different people viewing (if this makes sense!).
Thanks Bear for clarifying this one.

Maybe there all sitting there 1 vote off the 20%, and the votes won't count until the last day, and they vote in. |

Wait for the next week's last minute bumps. If every 10th person that viewed your image bumps it a point, you'll get over 6 easy.
