I just wanted to personally thank everyone who voted for Shadows And Panes! I got 10th place, and couldn't be happier!! :) I have to tell you the story about this picture....I went to the museum here in town, hoping to get some good negative space pictures. Well, after taking about 200 pictures, none of which I was very excited about, I sat down on a bench in this old building, to rest. The window pane shadow was on the floor and, not being very enthused about it, I took 1 picture of it....which just so happened to be the one I entered! :) I learned a lesson with this challenge, and that is...to look beyond my normal realm of thinking when taking pictures. The only thing that would have made this picture better (besides the fact that I cut off the right bottom of the picture) was to have a rose or something, sitting inside one of the partitions in the glass! Anyway, thanks again for voting and commenting on my picture....you guys are great!!!!!! :)

Sincerely, Christy

Congratulations on your finish. It is a great picture. Good thing you took it. Sometimes you just have to keeps slogging forward even when it feels like you're doing a mechanical job. Your own vision might surprise you later -- like in this entry.

Congrats on breaking the top 10! Lots of great pics in that challenge.
I really liked your shot. It reminded me of this picture that I took last year, but I like yours better.

Congrats on 10th!! Top ten is always good. I thought I knew who did that picture and I was way off. Most of the time when I have an inclination as to who did a picture, I'm very accurate. I honestly thought this was a JJBeguin photo. If you are going to be mistaken for someone, I think that's a very flattering "mistake". Its a very classic looking photo and you did a great job with it. Nice work and congrats on 10th.

The very same thing happened with my NS entry. I was taking pictures of my daughter making shadows on the wall and when I thought I had enough I turned off the light and she plopped down and the bed saying, "Are we done now?". That's the shot I entered, Hope?. I was very happy with 6th place.

I actually had you shot rated in my top 3. I liked the simple creativity of it.

Isn't it amazing how after you've been here a little while that your entire focus on things changes. You look at everything in a new light and is one of the many wonderful things about DPC IMHO.

Isn't it funny how things happen?? I gave you an 8 on your picture, but darn it, yours was one I wanted to go back and change to a 9....I usually vote on ALL the pictures first, then go back and put my comments in...then go back the next day when my mood is a little different to see what changes need to be made (votes always go up with me the second time around...never down) But, I see it scored very high anyway! Great job!!!

Thanks Christy. I guess a 9 wouldn't have made a crucial difference. : )
