First off let me say I'm not upset or anything especially since my entry did do so well in the challenge. However, several comments did rub me the wrong way a bit which basically said "please don't shoot this again". What the heck did I do here? Did I go over some dome quota that I wasn't aware of? This particular building shot in this fashion has only been entered twice at DPC from what I can tell doing a quick search just now, which is a a far cry from the dozens upon dozens of water/glass images that get entered shot in the exact same way each time. So what am I missing here?

Here's my entry:

Also, I found it interesting that SandyP entered a night shot of the same building of it's exterior which is very common shot yet received no such negative comments. Mind you I love SandyP's shot so there's no disrepect there in fact I would have scored her's higher than mine.

Here's SandyP's shot btw.

I totally wouldn't worry about it - maybe people are thinking that if this place stops getting photos taken of it, then people like you wouldn't score so well. :-)

You only got two comments that even slightly hint anything about what you're saying, and the one is obvioulsy made in a joking manner, denoted by the ;) ...

Don't get yourself worked up over comments that you don't agree with...mark them helpful, and move on...that's what I do.

I love your shot, it's the best one I've seen of the capital building. :) Don't let what they say make you enjoy your photo any less, because it rocks!! I know how frustrated you are, though. When I entered an infrared shot in a challenge, I got so many "seen this technique before" comments... but it was my first stab at it. People should look at all the shots as unique images instead of comparing them to things they've already seen... I mean, I think it's technically wonderful... but everyone votes differently... I have learned that for sure. :)
