I haven't been taking many photos lately (although I'm getting itchy to pick up that camera again), but instead I'm going through those archives of photos I never got around to, and I'm making backups of tons of stuff that I should've backed up a long time ago. Here are some of my "new" photos.

All of them will be available on DPCPrints as well, so any feedback on whether you think they are suitable for selling or how to change them would be appreciated. :)

Hiya Franziska .... ... my 0.02 cents and usual 'in my humble opinion' ok ?
1 and 3 miss something really interested in my opinion. In addition to that in the third one I think there is too much of the left wall ... it's sort of lost space for me. 3 is nice in tones but nothing to make it special.

I lile number 2 a lot, 'classic' I guess (although I did not do one like tht yet ;-) ) but very nice.

5 is nice and moody but I am not sure of what is brought by the 'effect' and what by the picture and composition itself.

I am a reflection guy myself, I like number 4 even if I have the feeling it could be better. I tried to remover the right black part as I thought at the beginning it was distracting but not sure it's better ;-) (somehow I lost the tones of your pictures when I opened it in photoshop).
reflection

again .. my 0.02 but I wanted you to have some input.
Hope you will get back to photo soon
Lionel

Thanks, Lionel, that's the advice I was looking for. Especially the 1st one I wasn't totally sure about. I like your crop for the 4th one but I am torn whether to make it more obvious that it's a reflection or not by including more of the black. I will toy with it some more :)

DC Reflections is breathtaking, Franziska!! Is this the old administrative building off 17th street? I think it is. I have photographed this building several times, but not like you have captured it! Stunning!
The first one has some nice lines and repetition, but it seems a little dark inside, and nearly blown on the sunlit portion of the columns. Have you tried dodging inside on the highlights and midtones, and burning the shadows to give more contrast and detail? I think it would help the first image quite a bit.

I like #2, especially the separation between BW above and greens below. With that in mind, maybe you could select the upper portion of the image and desaturate the greens in the upper portion a little (not all the way). May not add to the shot, but Iwould at least try it to compare if it were my image.

As always, excellent work!
Take care,
JD Anderson

To 'crop' wihout losing part of the monument I used the 'perspective' features of the cropping tool in photoshop to do like a 'diagonal' cropping. Yes .. same for me , I was not sure either it was better after!
