Perhaps this is a stupid question but I have to ask.
My native resolution from my 20D is 240dpi, when I process my RAW files my converter is set up to create 300dpi tiffs. What is happening to my files? Am I destroying anything in a process? Or maybe nothing happens?
Anyone know. Is it OK to do that? Would I be better off creating 240dpi tiffs instead? |

changing the dpi does not destroy the file in any way... |

As long as the image dimensions are your the native size for your camera the DPI of the image doesn't matter.

your native "DPI" is 3008 dpi. Or close to that.
Why?
You sensor is 22mm across and 3504 pixels...so that's approximately 3,800 pixels per inch.
Enlage that to a 10 inch wide print then it's 350 dpi.
