Very hazy in NW New Mexico from all the smoke coming from AZ. Amazing the effect on the entire region that way. We have choked every summer from AZ fires for years now...... Our own fires also add to it and get states further east.
I've been to AZ a lot but not Sedona. Have a shoot in east AZ froest this weekend and on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in October..... hope monsoon season comes soon.... it's not even in sight for the next week. |

I was on the North Rim in 2000 (escaping the Sydney Olympics ;-P). Fantastic. But there had been huge fires in the area a few months before. Camping out under the stars, mountain biking, one of the best holidays I've ever had. |

Good news: all containment lines are holding, including the ones in Sterling Canyon and at Oak Creek Canyon.
Bad news: they are expecting a dry thunderstorm today that will bring high winds that will test the containment lines and lightning that could start new fires, but no rain.
