Photo Friday ,I have no idea how they pick their winners but this is a joke!
Fourth place in Sleep!

funny! what a hoot! :) But hey, maybe the contest was "who can make the dreamiest" foto. But honestly, I'm too hungry to even click and check more of it out. Not my cup-o-noodles.

How does this photo friday site work. Do they just send in links to photo's?

The Photo Friday site just suggests a challenge and collects links from people who want to participate. There is no voting or judging; the numbers show the order the photos were submitted, not which are "best" in any way. The people who run the site do pick "noteworthy" photos from each challenge, but they aren't ranked at all. The site seems to cater mostly to people who keep photo-blogs.
A similar site is Theme Thursday: //themethursday.com/. Neither site requires registration, although both will send email notifications of new challenges if you ask them to.
