Hey everyone,
A co-worker asked me a question today that I was not able to answer, so I was hoping some experts here on the site might be able to help.
My co-worker has a manual Tamron 28-200mm (not sure if that is the exact spec. on the len) and she was wondering if this lens will work on any of the Digital Camera's out there on the market. My old Nikon lens from my 35mm film Nikon work on my D70, but I'm not too sure that her Tamron will work on anything. My initial thought is NO, it won't work with any digital camera's out there. Can anyone confirm please?
All the best,
Dave |

First, depends on the mount. Is it a Nikon or Canon mount? If so, it should work on the appropriate camera--HOWEVER, at least for the Nikon D70, it will not meter with manual focus lenses. The D200 does meter with them, however.
Yeah, the mount makes all the difference. |

Its a Nikon mount, so basically it will work, but she would have to do all the metering and focusing herself manually???
Would it work on the D50 like it does on the D70, but obviously with the limitations mentioned above and in your reply? |

If it mounts, s/he can use it. Manually at least. The automatic part is the variable.
