Just to get a quick general opinion from the general poplace out there...

I want to make a large size, framed print for a friend's new apartment but I'm torn between two options...

Cellar Still Life or Bluetopia..

Her apartment is going to be decorated in a pretty modern style, and initially I chose Bluetopia, since I thought Cellar Still Life would be more better suited for a more "old-fashioned" decorated home..

But being a very undecisive person, I thought the still life is a more universal shot that would be received better than Bluetopia as an apartment decoration...

So which would you pick to adorn your somewhat modern living space with?

Thanks for the help,
Dave

I would choose the "Bluetopia" myself, but maybe because I just love that photo. Great work and either way you go, you won't go wrong!

I've looked at your portfolio and suggest that you leave the choice to your friend. Just make a nice layout of the options that she has. A picture on the wall has to fit many requirements, artistic value being one, but color and size given the surrounding furniture and lighting being other equally valid points. It would be a shame to have your best picture printed at hight cost to find out that she will not hang it on the wall or that she does so only to please you.

I second this opinion; I think, for the most part, it is difficult to make that "personal" of a decision for someone else.

Yes, though I wanted it to be a surprise gift, I think a valid point is raised - the print is more likely to be used if chosen by the recipient herself.

I sure do like them both! I like the "old" feel to the cellar still life, but I would choose the Bluetopia for a modern style decor. Ok, now I'm going in to see how much you're asking for your prints of Bluetopia......:)
