When it comes to Nikon Cameras and RAW, which converter do you use and why?
Nikon Capture
Photoshop RAW 3.3
Bibble Pro
Something else? |

I've tried Nikon RawEdit and RawShooter Essentials (RSE) and still haven't decided between the two. I tend to prefer the interface of RSE, but it's hardly perfect. I only Adjust WB and Exposure in Raw, as I feel I have more control over everything else in Photoshop. |

i use adobe camera raw here at work and rawshooter essentials at home...
i use paint shop pro x at home for most work, but it's raw conversion isn't up to par, if you ask me...
i've tried the rawshooter pro and like the results better than essentials, but i just dropped over $600 on equipment this month, so no new toys for me for awhile...
i've also tried the trial of capture, but it was slow and rather hard to use... i've seen the demo of the new NX version which is really nice. i'll probably try that when it's out. if it's half as nice as it looked (and half the price i'm afraid it will be) i'll probably start using that...

i use Nikon Capture almost excusively
import (16bitmode) in to PSC2 on the rare occasion (makes me wonder why i $$ the money for it )
i find that 90% Capture makes a better jpg than PSCS2
the 10 percent is the odd time i do dodge&burn&clone or am forced to save for web ..

| I use Lightroom which is a great porgram. I haven't really tried any other RAW editors. If you use Mac you can download a free beta. |

| Adobe Camera Raw 3.3 for sure. It fits into my workflow of Bridge/PSCS2 and I'm already familiar with it. Easy to use, instant results, automated settings (if desired), and much else. |

I use Nikon Capture almost exclusively, any finishing touches (after converting to TIFF) in PSP9.
IMO, Nikon Capture does quite a good job of converting/working with the RAW files, but it is slow. |

Okay I am the odd one here looks like ...
I use CaptureOne for stuff comming from CF cards and of course nikon capture when teathered. Side by side I think CaptureOne gives better skintones with less screwing around than ACR
The resulting Tifs are cataloged with Imatch

| I use iPhoto to convert Nikon RAW into TIFF or JPG. I guess the reason is that I already have the software on my mac and I didn't think there was any difference in which program converted it. Maybe I am wrong. |

I use Adobe Lightroom too, but it is so far only available for Macs.

Nikon Capture
Because imo it produces the best conversion and has good tools to tweak the image.
I tried Rawshooter Essentials once and it lacked in certain areas of image quality. You can read more about my comparisson between the two programs here.
