Same here. My reshoot is way better, but the score is even worse.
Makes you wonder, doesn't it? |
A good photo is made stronger by its theme. We have no theme, and therefore better photos are suffering for lack of context - mine included. It's the only explanation I've been able to come up with, anyway.

I was 6.2+ and now I'm on the upper end of 6.5. Must be a lot of this going around! |

Could it be that all (or a lot of) the photos are better and competing with a lot of better photos is pushing scores down? |

You could have received a bonus on the original for it being a very clever or very clear take on the challenge topic. You do not get that bonus in this challenge as it is much more of a free study.
Voting styles have changed as well. I am sitting nearly even with my orignial (actually slightly below) even though there were 25 comments mentioning the same change was necessary in the first version. With that change made (and better PP with the benefit of experience) the score is no different.

Well you've set the bar high Doc!You've chosen a photo that had scored high in the first go around ;) Improving on that score would be tough.

I have been very pleased with my score and comments. I dont think I will have to enter this shot in a Take 3 challenge. Thanks to all for the votes and comments - now start bumping up!!! :) |

I know I won't be doing a Take 3 of mine. That photo is a royal pain in the arse to shoot alone.

As long as I keep my hands out of my pants, I think I don't have to worry about that anymore :-)
