The Great JPini predicts your final score will be ..... 6.334!

Yeah, I have a pair of furballs here who see to it I get up at the same time every day. Then they, of course, promptly go back to sleep. Rotten animals...

I'll take the 6.334, thanks!

Start with mine then! Mine is the one without comments, it´s easily recognizable :) Shouldn´t complain though, have gotten far more than my share of comments in the last challenges, think I average about 30-40!

i'll try to find yours ;) those icelandic skies are unmistakeable ;)

Nope, misjudged. Had a worry about the shot I used, but thought it was good enough to get past it. Apparently not. Oh well.

Dropping like a rock here, but I can't complain because there are so many really, really good entries in this one. Somewhere in the 5.8 region now. I don't think your prediction will hold this time, JP.

I just finished voting guys. Good Job, there was some dynamite shots in there.

I did notice though, that in these advanced editing challenges people are tending to go overboard with post-processing. Did anybody else notice this?

Yep. I noticed this on a few shots and I will comment on them as such ;) My shot has almost zero post processing ;) A first for me ;)

Owe and the comment about the grumps voting early...I was probably one of them...but listen! I do that in every challenge, and go back and bump almost everything up a notch or two, or three.

I do that because, I vote according to the challenge. For example if my overall highest photo right now is a 7, by the end it will be a 10 because rather it is incredible photo or not, if it's the best in the challenge, its getting a 10. I do that because some challenges are harder to get good images on, and I give points for that.

I'm sure everybody's got their own way. Im not a grump just gun-shy thats all. LOL.

Not as dismal as I had expected, but it hasn't reached the plateau of reasonable stability yet. We'll see where the score is when we get to 100 votes.

in recent challenges, 150 seems to be the plateau ;(

I knew it would go down, but I honestly don't think this is a sub 6 scoring image.

Little disappointed. Thought this would do better. Although, to be fair, I have given a lot of the people I've voted for 6, 7, and 8s. There are a lot of really good entries in this.

Don't keep track of scores because I have it shut off, but I have zero comments, which usually means it is scoring badly. Must be because I did not vote last week on any challenges, so I guess I am getting what I deserve. Still, I hope that somebody will take the time to tell the lower scoring images what is wrong with them.

If you go to preferences, there is a list of options. One is scoring. I leave it unchecked, hit save, and wallah, no score updates.

I have not had my scores showing for about nine months. It's so much better not to have to have the scores on this site contributing to the angst of everyday life - not that it really was ;).

As for your scores, it's been my experience that zero comments means it's very middle of the road. IMO, poor scoriing images get lots of comments because it's easier to pick faults with them. High scoring images get lots of comments because of the wow factor - you don't often see much in terms of critical suggestions on high scoring shots, just a bunch of "great shot" type comments.

I'll bet yours finishes 5 to 5.5

Thanks for the vote of confidence gatorguy. Anyway, I probably won't refer to even the comments after today. Just like checking the first day. At least I have gotten through about 30% of the images and I have commented on around 15 so far. Hopefully I'll be able to make at least 50 comments. Need to make up for last week.

3 of the comments hate the non-architechural element in my entry. I tried to do something besides "a picture of a building", something to add some direction or context to the picture. I thought this one would be a 6+. I guess its not coming across as intended. Oh well, I should have entered the "building only" shot I was considering that was taken from an interesting POV.

There are some amazing entries in this challenge. I don't think I've ever voted more 6, 7 or 8. before.

Crap - peaked at 6.5xxx earlier, now it's time for the slide. :(

Edit to add: this is why I like having my scores off, it's my own fault

Edit: deleted my remark, because it appeared that my photo could be traced and that was not my intention.
