I'm not trying to start a competition or a contest of what site is better with this thread!!!
Does anyone else use any site besides DPCPrints to sell photographs? Keep in mind that I don't have any photos that I think are marketable yet. Someone at my work knows how I've been getting into photography and mentioned that some photogs around our area take pictures of public events and then sell the pictures online. Legal ownership of the pictures notwithstanding, I wondered if any of you folks do that. I consider DPC to be artwork, not commercial photography per se. I mean, how often do you see 150 photos of a marathon or an Easter egg hunt on DPC. Therefore, what's your experience with these sites?
The one that was shown me is PhotoReflect (//www.photoreflect.com/). After looking around I [em]think[/em] that it costs $795 USD to setup an online store and sell photos. I'm really enjoying photography (and DPC) for how I feel like I get to express myself artistically and grow in this community of honest opinions and evaluations. However, paying for some of the new toys I want (like lights or backdrops or props or . . . . ) wouldn't be a bad thing every now and again.
Now that I've rambled, please join in.
