Ok I have 131 photos of my wedding to scan into the computer. Anyone know or use a service out there that I can send these photos to and have returned to me with a cd copy of all photos for a decent price.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have already scanned 30 myself but at this rate I won't be done until next year sometime.

I think if I paid for this service I would also get a better scan.

From what I understand most film scanning services charge between $5-10 per image.

Professional scanning is expensive : (

The place I work uses a company called ScanArt in Emeryville, CA, but they don't have a regular website I can find. You might also check with Cantoo in Berkeley.

The ones I have found so far are around $0.79 a scan

Maybe I should have said good quality scans can be expensive.

Are they scanning prints or negatives for that price?

BTW: Are these your photos?

Prints and yes they are mine

At that much a scan I may as well scan them myself.

Sorry rex, I was thinking about the scanning of negatives, not prints. But, yes even at .79 a print it adds up.

Well it is only about $100. I am willing to pay that if I can find a good company I can trust to send my prints to and have them returned.

I would suggest scan them yourself. I really don't think it takes that long. I can easily scan 50-60 photos a day. Plan it. Scan 10, then walk around and take a break. Come back to scan a few more. Have fun. Have some popcorn. Do it while watching a movie ;-)

I agree! I recently scanned over 1000 negatives from the 50's to the 80's (before my parents were married up until I was a teenager). It was tedious at times but you get into a rhythym and it can go fast.

Well I was hoping for a better quality scan
