I looked at some song titles and even came up with some ideas. But then I thought to myself, "I hate the Beatles. I better start working on Single Light Source."

Sounds like there'll be some fun on this one. Good luck to those that enter it.

Me too!!! I genuinely do not like almost all of their music, save for one or two songs (maybe). I'll probably just have to give everyone the benefit of the doubt about titles and/or lyrics, because I don't know them anyway. I sure don't plan to research them just to vote on the challenge itself.

Thank Pete it's not a Yoko Ono challenge...then I'd REALLY be in trouble. ;)

I think that entrants would be well-advised to stick to the more well-known lyrics and titles anyway, just because obscurity never does well here. Anyway, I'm betting that half the entries are guitars and the other half are random lines from Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, with a scattering of strawberry plants. ;-)

"OH! DARLING", this challenge is going to be "SOMETHING" wonderful!!!! :-) :-)

Sticking to the very well known titles just 'BECAUSE' they will be the most recognized just stifles creativity in my honest opinion and may possibly get you "NOWHERE MAN". "IT'S ALL TOO MUCH" overload to see tons of LUCY IN THE SKIES or of page after page of "STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER". If a DPCer gets all elements of creativity to "COME TOGETHER" to "CARRY THAT WEIGHT" in good votes then it will be worth it in "THE END" I, for one, am quite willing to explore the "B side" of an album (even though it is one of the better known albums. I certainly hope I can pull the idea off by the deadline).

Hee, can't wait til rollover when we "ALL TOGETHER NOW" happily browse through everyone's entries and bemoan our own scores:-):-):-) :-)

I'm not to certain about the challenge ... I feel that since the limits normally surrounding the open challenges have more or less been removed, there is a bigger chance of doing something not allowed and get disqualified.
I'm not saying I don't like the concept ... just that I'm insecure about my ability to limit myself according to the challenge.
It's fairly certain that this challenge will generate a great deal of good photos ... sadly, I fear I will not be among them ...

I'm as big a Beatle fan as you can get....pretty much...well, minus the screaming and crying but I couldn't agree with you more on the Yoko Ono thing.

If there was a Yono Ono Challenge....I would be forced to ask DPC for a full membership refund and never return to the site(which could make some people happy).

Are you refering to the fact that it's Advanced rules instead of Basic? I am wondering about that too.

I have a picture inside my head for both challenges. We'll see if I can actually get either of them done, and then which of them I like better.

I'm excited about the Beatles challenge too. They were an amazing band with SO SO many great songs. I feel like there are unlimited possibilites on what can be done with this one. I have an idea for both challenges, now to choose....

I have about a zillion Beatles songs going on in my head. Not sure which one is going to work for me. Most of my concepts are WAY out of my realm of creative ability.

I really want a looking glass tie!!

Single light source might have my name on it but then I feel like I'm not being true to my Beatle fanatic self. Hmmmmmm

At least I have some time.

Gary- Abbey Road would be AWESOME.

I do live by an Abbey Rd. Actually the subdivision is called Strawberry Fields, and all the streets are named after Beatles songs or Members. My profile has a photo for Road Signs, and the photo is of Yesterday Way, that was one of the streets.

Owe and Jutilda, I am having the same problem, I have a good idea for single light source, but I almost feel like a traitor if I do that, because I am such a huge Beatle fan.

Listening to Beatles as we speak, (for about an hour now) "The long and winding road that leaaaddds to your heart"

I've got mine in! Possibly the best image I have put into a challenge so far. If would could just skip ahead to Sunday midnight please? I'm tired of looking at my boring, tanking Heat and Success entries.

There's a hairdresser down the road called Abbey Road - but remember, Abbey Road was the title of the album, not of a song (nor in a lyric). Same with Revolver.

Well, if my model ever rolls his butt home, I'll have mine ready to go.

Not really a big fan of the Beatles (I've heard their songs too often ), but I've a great idea so I think I'll participate too.

I am out, my masterpiece entitled "JP Wins Blue with " will not be entered :(

I originally was not inspired, and was going to do the single light source.

However, as hapinstance hits you in the knee some times, I captured an image that actually inspired me to PS it to death and voila, now I am entered into the Beatles challenge.

The lighting, the colors, my model, the lens I chose, the timing all came together on this one.

If anything...I shot it for myself knowing that I liked it.

I am worried about title length. I have three possibilities but all are too long for a title and don't make sense when you shorten them...

I'm in! With a different photo I first had in mind.

I will personally kneel for the first person that gets a nice picture of Madonna and enter it with the title "Lady Madonna" ;)

Anyone close to Sunset blvd.?

I had an idea for " i want to hold your hand" but couldnt get anyone for what i wanted, so single light source it is.

I wonder how many DNMC comments there will be due to the viewer not knowing the full range of Beatle songs.

In other words, will that country bumpkin, or that jazz enthuesiest, or the hard core barbershop quartet listener give out DNMC because they 'think' they know all the Beatles songs?

We shall see.
