I had many questions about my entry in the Desolation challenge.
This is the original image as it came from the camera. I used a polarizing filter and the photo was taken just before sunset. I cropped, rotated and increased the saturation and contrast. I then adjusted levels one channel at a time until I got the color effect that I was looking for. It was over 110 degrees when I took this photo so there was a lot of noise that I removed using Neat Image. Lastly I resized and applied the US Mask.

I removed the power line and the signs of civilization from the lower right of the photo and uploaded it for sell on DPCPrints.
