I'm currently without my R and T due to a library book accident while my son was watching a movie on the way home from vacation. Am I in for a pain in the butt to replace? Yes, they are broken (I can see the little white tabs on the back which are missing on one side). Can I just get some new keys and pop them in myself? 5 total came off, but I managed to get the other three back on with little difficulty.

An easy, cheap, and slightly unethical solution to your problem would be to go to a computer store and pluck a few keys off a demo keyboard and put them in your pocket. :) |

Laptop I assume?
You'll probably have to replace the whole keyboard. Not fun. |

My son recently plucked almost all the keys off my Dell laptop. I got all but 7 back on and when checking to see if I could order just the keys, it was cheaper to replace the keyboard. But then I got a bum keyboard, the right half didn't work at all! My daughters use it more than I do and they don't seem to mind, the little rubber knubs are still there.....

And it helps them remember where keys are when they have to stop and think about what they are typing |

If you have the Dell Complete Coverage plan, you can throw you machine into the ground and smash it into a million pieces ON PURPOSE, and they will still replace it for you. You might want to call them up to check the warranty status.
Alternatively, look on eBay or shops dealing with used laptops and buy a compatible one to replace? |

Well, I had forgotten, but since it was purchased through work, I got the "good" warrantee. New keyboard will be here on Wednesday... |
