I am trying to make move on up in Photography so someone told me that I needed to have a portfolio. How can I make one? What size should the photos be inside the portfolio? ETC.

depending on your focus you need a web portfolio/website for sure. a print book is good if you are into pj etc. brooks institute has some good stuff on a print book. mine is 8x10.

I have a little plastic book of 5x7s I can put in my purse. The size is smaller than is ideal, but it gets people interested enough to take my card.

10-15 8x10 images in a book usually, sometimes loose in a folder type affair.
the images are related to what you are 'selling' - you shoot still life show still life, shoot weddings show brides, etc.

what exactly do you want to do with your photography?
here are a few of mine- all 8x12 in an 11x14 book. presentation is everything, you want them all to be lined up nicely. Online might be good too- just depends :0)

How do you keep them lined up nicely? I have 9x12 prints in an 11x14 book.

Hey chicka- haven't heard from you in a while :0) Just a plain old ruler and a penci; I use removeable dotto on the back of the photos (acid free, peels off, bla bla bla) And make sure the prints are all the same size or will line up at the edges like this one...
