I have recently become reacquainted with the Forum Thread option Ignore. What a sense of freedom to click Ignore and never ever again see that thread in the Recent Forum Activity list.
I have used it recently on numerous Team This, or Team That, or League of Something-or-Other threads which (except to the participants) are about as interesting to me as weekday afternoon junior varsity curling practice.
I've used it recently to hide threads about female technology innovations, not that there's anything wrong with female technology innovations per se, but they're not that interesting to me.
I have used it recently to rescue myself from threads about Bush and Blair (what the Economist describes as the Axis of Feeble, but I digress), Hurricanes and Global Warming, Gas Prices (and who makes the most money on a gallon of gas: answer -- government by a wide margin), and such.
I have used it recently to preserve my sanity when debate rages about the precise meaning of a word in a challenge title (which seems to contradict another obscure word in the challenge description).
No kidding the Ignore option is great! Using it like this restores the DPC dialog to mostly rich content about photography, calls for photographic help and genuinely helpful respoinses, essays about photographic technique, and almost universally helpful tutorials.
Give it a try. Ignore early and often. Reduce your frustration. Increase your satisfaction with DPC. Boost your photographic performance. Relive DPC's 'golden era."
