LOL!!!! I use OB's (no applicator...) so I'm already halfway there!
...I can't beleive I'm posting this :0P |
Me too. About the cup, I have to wonder "will your cup not runneth over?" Also, what if it slipped out?! Toxic Spill!!!...oooh, AND you were wearing white pants :)
As for telling kids when they're young (meaning around age 10) is a very good thing. My grandmother never told my mom about the way her body would work. When she got her first period, she hid in her room and though she was dying! Don't do that to your girls.
...I'll think about the cup...maybe.

Discretion? Come on boys! A modicum of good taste perhaps? Maybe it's little wonder girls feel so uncomfortable talking about things...

As a female, I feel women should not be uncomfortable talking about these things. The more we talk openly about them, including men, the less uncomfortable "young girls" will be and certainly a more healthy attitude will be taken. Joking is part of that. Too often women (and men) will not go to doctors, talk to their parents or even their friends about concerns over these so called "embarassing" part of their bodies or normal bodily functions. My mother wouldn't talk about anything and at the age of 10, I began menstruating and thought I was dying. It was the "curse" according to friends - great name for becoming a woman ! I didn't make the same mistake with my children, girl and boy, so they are both totally relaxed about these and similar matters.
Oh dear - soapbox again!
My apologies - I woke up feeling really yukky this morning so you are suffering - and no it's not PMT!!!!!!!

Agreed! Men talk about farting and crapping all the time but the second you mentions periods.... ohhh goodness.
That's such a shame hearing stories where girls don't know what a period is. I don't know how I would ever have taken it not knowing it was normal... it was hard enough even knowing! |

OP, thanks for the links. Interesting concept indeed. |
My son would have had a field day in your family. He got suspended from school for telling a kid he didn't have pee-pee he had a penis and two gonads in a scrotal sac........... |
