The topic should be set...but the description should state that you have to photograph something that does not include the subjects in the description.
How many times have you either told someone to do something or been told to not do something and you have turned around and done it.
We have challenges and many entries just DO NOT MEET THE CHALLENGE!!
So with a psychological twist on the subject...the subject states that you are NOT allowed to photograph the subjects listed. Otherwise it would be classed as DNMC...now that will make the challenge that much harder to photograph for.
Hehehehehehe!! Hmmm...me thinks I is going around the twist!!

Ummmm.... Lemme see....
DNMC Challenge
Your photograph may NOT contain water, refractions, flowers, sunsets, children, dogs, cats, birds, or light trails.
End result: EVERY shot has at least one of the above in it in order that it does NOT meet the challenge...
Yes, I love you too :-)

Exactly.
You have to make sure you don't meet the challenge by avoiding those subjects to meet the DNMC category.
And anyone who does photograph the subject Do Not Meet the Challenge...so it really play with peoples minds and make for some heavy psyching out of people....!
The ones that make it through that will do well with their images...but it just might settle people down in future challenges....hehehehe!!

Have to make it a non-studio shot to make these things harder to avoid.

Hehehehe...or it should read................
"Your photograph MUST contain water, refractions, flowers, sunsets, children, dogs, cats, birds, or light trails.
But this is a DNMC challenge. So in order for you to meet the DOES NOT MEET CHALLENGE criteria.....your photo 'SHOULDN'T' have any of the above subjects."
That way, anybody actually adding any of those subjects into their photo will be meeting the challenge without meeting the challenge....oooooooooooooooooooooh!!! Now that is going to mess with soooooooooooooo many minds!!

Can I just shoot one of those subjects anyway and title it "Does not meet challenge" to shoehorn it in? That's ok right? :P

See, it's like one of those cards printed on both sides: Side one says "The statement on the other side of this card is false" and side two says "The statement on the other side of this card is true"...
Think about that for 5 minutes, take two aspirin, and call me in the morning.

I can see it now..."this image meets the challenge; I'm sorry, I have to give you a 1."

OMG!!! You all crack me up. I thought I was the only weird one around here thinking that this would work. It tips everything on its head and puts everybody outside their comfort zone. I hope they do try something like this...especially if it is put into a speed challenge...make everyone all the more nervous.

Aaaaahhhh! My head asplode!
Simplify it to "Do not take pictures of any of the following..." (use Bear's original list above) and I'll sign on for it. :) |

so... since it's a speed challenge, then we must take it slow, right? only then it would be a DNMC photo, but then, if it's a DNMC photo and meets the challenge, it wont be DNMC anymore right? then... god, i need a break! lol |

while we're at it, let's have a DQ'd challenge and a suckiest photo challenge, lowest score wins. The DQ'd challenge, maybe they have to DQ their photo and the one that people can't tell wins, or not actually DQ your photo, just make it look like you did and the most convincing one wins, I guess that could be like the illusion one, except people will have to make it look like they photoshopped in a watermark when they didn't or something... idk, off on a tangent now |
