I thought the new Shelby Mustangs are just for the Hertz to be used as rentals? Did you notice the side view mirrors - they are plastic looking!! why do they have to be plastic in a beauty like this?

@bowronfam3 : Great pictures.. I like the postprocessing!

I grew up driving one of the original Shelby Mustang. It was my father's car, and I even took my driving test in it. I remember the roll cage and the way the car sounded. I remember how men would be waiting in the parking lot to ask about the car---was it for sale? etc..
great memories!!!

I've had the pleasure to also take some pics of an 06 GT. The side windows now have louvers, but other wise, this is how my baby looks. If you ever have a chance to ride in one, do so!! It's a blast!

(BTW the pics are of my 06 GT)

That is not a Ford GT. Its funny someone is posting about ford cars now. I just saw a Ford GT at one of the Dealers I do work for. I'm not easily impressed but what an awsome car. I'm going to try to get permission to shoot some photos of it.

There is a Mustang GT, and the new Ford supercar, simply called the GT (modeled after the old GT40). I believe Danny was just referring to his Mustang GT in a shorthand way. (And there's also the new GT500 coming soon. "GT" is a popular designation with Ford.)

No, there is a GT-H for Hertz. It's basically a Mustang GT with some bolt on performance parts that ups the HP +30 to 330HP. The Shelby GT500 is a different beast altogether with 500HP to the wheels! 8000 will be made this model year... good luck in finding one to purchase.

I do agree that the mirrors suck. They should be tear drop and painted to match the car, not this stupid textured plastic. Ah well, they did great with the rest of the car.

And yes, I was referring to my Mustang GT, not the Ford GT. I do realize the difference between the 2 ;-)
